The square alumina crucible is a laboratory or industrial container made from high-purity alumina (99%–99.7%). A lid can be included based on your specific requirements.
Precautions for Using Alumina Crucibles:
👉 Before first use, place the crucible in an oven and preheat it at approximately 105°C for 2 hours to remove any residual moisture.
👉 Avoid using gasoline, acetylene, or alcohol torches to heat the crucible directly, as uneven heating may cause cracking.
👉 The heating and cooling rates should be gradual—below 1200°C, the temperature change should not exceed 5°C per minute, and above 1200°C, it should be no more than 4°C per minute.
👉 Maintain a minimum distance of 2 cm between the crucible and heating elements such as graphite tubes, molybdenum disilicide rods, or resistance wires.
👉 For large crucibles, avoid direct contact with the furnace base. It is recommended to elevate the crucible using alumina stands or other heat-resistant pads to allow airflow and extend service life.
